I had a wonderful experience at this luxurious 4-star hotel. The location was perfect, nestled in the quiet mountains by a beautiful river in the onsen area. The serene surroundings provided a truly relaxing atmosphere. The service from the staff was top-notch. They were helpful and polite, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The shuttle service provided by the hotel was a great convenience, allowing me to easily explore the nearby city center before dinner. The meals served were absolutely delicious, offering a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine. The hotel also had a library with a piano, creating a cozy and welcoming ambiance. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary sake by the firewood place. Additionally, the outdoor onsen pool was a private oasis for me during my stay.
I would highly recommend this hotel to others. The Yamashinobu Minamioguni offers enhanced comfort and quality services that truly elevate the guest experience.

The hotel’s clean and modern facilities were an absolute delight. The shuttle service provided by the hotel to the city center made it easy for me to get around and explore. The breakfast was delicious, with many tiny courses carefully explained by the staff; an amazing experience in itself. The friendly and polite staff made the trip even more enjoyable.
Everything was spot on.

Had a wonderful Christmas at this traditional Japanese ryokan. The food was outstanding, particularly the seasonal seafood dishes, and the portion sizes were generous. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, providing fantastic service throughout my stay. One of the best things was the location, with plenty of opportunities for hiking and exploring the nearby hot springs, giving me access to the magnificent views and natural surroundings.
That the hotel was somewhat difficult to find at first, but once I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the staff who then escorted me to my room. The rooms were a bit small, but that's expected for such a traditional Japanese inn.

This traditional Japanese inn located in a secluded forest area offers a unique and peaceful experience. the Ryokan offers private and public hot spring baths, some with natural rocks and bamboo surroundings, adding to the atmosphere of tranquillity. the rooms are spacious and clean with heated floors. the 14-course dinner is exceptional and inclusive of local specialties such as the optional horse meat sushi, a great opportunity to indulge in exotic experiences.
Some guests may feel the clothes provided tend to be over-sized, taking away from the overall comfort of the stay.

We had an amazing romantic escape at a traditional Japanese inn. The meals in a private dining room were exceptional, with fresh ingredients sourced from the region. The private baths were a highlight, allowing us to relax and unwind in natural hot springs. We appreciated the attentive staff who provided shuttle service to the charming nearby town.
The location was a bit remote for our liking, requiring a car or shuttle service to get to other attractions in the area. The lack of English signage made it challenging to navigate and communicate with staff, but we were able to get by with basic Japanese phrases.
